Conveyancing | Client Case Studies
A first-time buyer called about the contract they were about to sign.
After taking time to understand their position, Kellie was able to advise on:
- The amount of time required for their bank to process their finance application.
- When they could expect settlement so they could minimise the double-payment concerns of rent and mortgage.
- Having the seller fix the leaky roof and strained retaining wall before settlement.
As a result, the client saved thousands of dollars and a lot of stress.
A client wanted to buy land.
Knowing the area, Jo suggested a flood search. Result: The client proceeded, but the purchase price was reduced to reflect the true value of the land.
A married couple were separating and selling their home.
Both lawyers asked Kellie to act for the couple. Why? Having known her for many years, the lawyers trusted that she could handle this sensitive and emotional matter.
First-home buyers in a de facto relationship were very keen to buy.
The bank agreed to the finance. Mum and Dad were giving their daughter the money she needed for the balance of the purchase price. Andrew drew up a loan agreement to protect Mum and Dad (just in case).
A first-time developer wanted to secure a site but was unsure of the next steps.
Andrew prepared an option agreement to minimise risk and tax.
